Talk about over rated!! On Saturday 1/23/10 my girlfriend and I met some friends at Sambuca’s. I’ve been on two other occasion just for music and drinks but never for dinner and if had eaten the food the other two times I would have never went back.
Let me start with the good points, the music was nice. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way let talk about what went wrong. It took maybe 15 minuets before anyone in the Waite staff visited our table. The waiter came to take our drink order which included plain h20 along with the alcohol, he brings the alcohol but we have to wait another 20 minutes for the water. The restaurant isn’t that big so I’m wondering why did it take 20 minutes to bring water. Instead of an entrée I ordered a house salad, a bowl of gumbo, a side of praline crusted sweet potatoes and a small plate of sea bass skewers. The salad was good no complaints but how can you mess up a salad, the bowl of gumbo had microwave rings all around the rim, and tasted like they poured a pound of salt in it, if you have high blood pressure stay away. If you”re looking for a dish that has absolutely no flavor, no seasoning and no presentation order the praline crusted sweet potatoes they sucked.
I could go on but I think you get the idea. If you want to eat at a place with nice atmosphere, good music and lousy over priced food then Sambuca’s might be the place for you.
