This is for their Smyrna location - I bought a groupon b/c all I needed was layers cut into my med-long hair. I figured I didn't need the best in the business for this. Any stylist should be able to do this pretty well. I am not type A when it comes to my hair so, I didn't expect perfection. I called numerous times and could never get anyone on the phone. It's not super far from my house so, one day I decided to go by the salon to book my appointment. I walked in and no one was there. Finally, someone showed up after 10 minutes. I asked her if they do caucasion hair. She says yes, they have one person who does and gave me that person's cell. I call that person and make an appointment for 2 days later at noon. I arrived at the scheduled time but she wasn't there. The on-duty stylist calls her and then passes me her phone to speak to the stylist. The stylist says she thought it was for 12:30 and she'll be there in 30 minutes if I can wait. I was a stay-at-home mom so this is no big deal for me. She arrives at 12:30 and I tell her not to shake my hand b/c I have a cold. She looks at me like I have a horrible disease & asks if the receptionist told me she does not do sick people's hair b/c she always catches it. I say no. She tells me since I waited she will do my hair (like she is doing me some huge favor). She then looks at my hair dry (which is usually the sign of a good stylist) and then starts pitching to me about how she teaches aesthetics classes and how great she is. How I should attend some of her classes. She then tells me she can buy my products for me at her professional discount, but I have 2 days to come get them or she will never do my hair again. I tell her I'll think about it. During all this I am thinking she has quite the ego, but I don't care. As long as she is good I can deal with ego. She then washes my hair. it hurt so much while she was washing it I just had to keep thinking to myself it will be over soon. She was pretty rough. Then she starts styling & cutting my hair. Again telling me how great she is at hair. When it's all said and done I look at my hair in the mirror and it looks really good. I notice that one side looks different than the other, but I think to myself it's probably just that one side is turned under & one is turned out. So, I go home and take a really close look in the mirror and realize it's not the style that is the problem. The right side looks great and has tons of layers & depth. The left has almost none. It is so vastly different from the other side there is no way I can go out into public with this hair. I have to wear a ponytail for a few days. I was about to start a new job & did not have time to find someone to fix it. I was not going back to her. So, I took scissors & fixed it the best I could. I get it pretty close so that with just a barrett or headband you can't tell it's different. Once it grows out a few inches I will go somewhere else to have it fixed. To top it all off she hits me with a n 18% nonnegotiable tip so that the groupon is no longer a decent deal. She tells me she has to do it to keep using groupon. I am thinking you are missing the point of the groupon for the consumer. The groupon price was too much for what I got, much less the 18% & what she normally charges. If the haircut had been even I would have at least given her 4 stars even with the other issues. Bottom line - stay away. Poor service, poor work, ridiculous price.
