Review content:
We recently drove downtown early to use a purchased gift certificate at 1890 prior to attending a show at Playhouse Square.
The waitress who came to our table was courteous, but when we mentioned the gift certificate, she said they were no longer honoring them. Since the gift certificate states, ""no expiration date"", we asked to talk to the manager. When she came to talk to us, she said 1890 had been fraudulently listed with the seller's web site. We felt that this should've been mentioned somewhere on either 1890's or the seller's website, and since this was not the case, we told the manager we were pressed for time, had driven downtown for a nice dinner, and had to insist that 1890 at least cover our parking.
There was absolutely no attempt on the manager's part to compromise or offer us some type of acceptable solution (such as a free appetizer...or SOMETHING). The really ridiculous aspect of all of this is that we're talking about a $25 off certificate and we were ready to spend much more than that (especially since this is NOT an inexpensive place to dine). Furthermore, we were the ONLY PEOPLE in the place. Needless to say, we will not return!
