Review content:
I had a very horrible experience with Dr. Vaysman. I went to Dr. Vaysman because I wanted to correct my overbite/overjet. She told me that the only way I could correct this was to have 2 premolars from the top extracted (one on each side). After treatment with braces, my smile has become really narrow, my lips have flattened out, my upper lip looks very thin, my mouth is smaller and my cheeks have become ""sunken in"". This is all a result of extracting perfectly healthy teeth when it was absolutely not necessary. I have gone to several orthodontist for second opinions and they have all told me the same thing - my malocclusion was a skeletal issue and not a dental issue. And unfortunately, Dr. Vaysman incorrectly treated me. Dr. Vaysman tried to camouflage the underlying problem by pulling perfectly good teeth and moving the front teeth back which has made the problem worse. The issue was with my lower jaw being too far back, not my upper jaw being too forward. Dr. Vaysman's treatment of extracting upper premolars has made the problem much much worse - both aesthetically and functionally. In hindsight, it makes perfect sense - extracting teeth will of course cause many undesirable effects. It seems obvious now. Your teeth are there for a good reason - to support your mouth, lips, jaw & facial structure. I trusted Dr. Vaysman as a professional and did not think she would recommend a treatment with a negative outcome. Boy was I wrong. I was mislead by all the positive reviews online and had to share my experience so others would not make the same mistake as I did. Please save yourself time, money and most of all, grief and go to an orthodontist with more experience.
