Grossingers replaced the engine of our 2002 Cadillac Deville with a used engine that had a three month warranty with it. After two weeks of using the car in normal conditions, I was forced to pull into a service station because there was smoke coming out of the tail pipe. The mechanic who helped me said that the engine was bad. It had a heavy oil leak and the engine was misfiring. He said it was unsafe to drive. I left the car at the service station. Meanwhile, coincidentally, he had an engine for a 2002 Deville that had come out of a car that was totaled. It was a much newer engine than the one installed by Grossinger and he was willing to warranty it for one year. He replaced the broken engine I went to Grossinger with the paper work and the manager of the service department said that he would look into the matter and call me within two hours. He said, ""Don't worry, everything will be OK."" I never heard back from him. After repeatedly calling him and leaving messages, I finally spoke with him and he told me that he could not refund the money for the engine. Then I called and spoke to the Director of Parts and Service at Grossingers. He also refused to issue a refund for the engine. Note that the engine is still within the three month warranty period. I am only asking them to refund the money for the engine itself, not for the labor that they charged me for installing it. I do not claim that the installation was faulty, only the engine. I would like to return the engine to Grossingers and have them issue a full refund for it.
