Worst studio experience ever! \r
\r
When we saw the stage initially, another production's set pieces were still there and we were promised the stage would be cleaned and the pieces would be moved. \r
\r
HA! What a joke! The other job's set pieces were in our space and it took up about a quarter of the stage and the other job's lighting grid still hung from the ceiling! There was hardly any room to shoot or even move our equipment. We ended up moving some things just to have some space to move props and lighting equipment and the stage manager unnecessarily harassed the crew to try to get them to move things back during shooting (Quiet on set please!). At some point, the SM placed a board between the previous job's set piece and the wall which created a huge fire hazard. \r
\r
The restrooms on stage were really dirty. In addition, the kitchen in the production area was completely off limits even though it was totally filthy and we would not have used it anyway. \r
\r
This studio requires you to rent equipment from them. They didn't deliver the order for the equipment until noon on the 1st shoot day and once we finally did receive it, there were missing items. When we brought this to their attention, they claimed the full order had been delivered. We had to push our call times because of this delay and they refused to accommodate us to try and make up for that time.\r
\r
Overall, everything was over promised and under delivered. They booked our job on a down day for another production to fill the empty slot and make some extra money. We were happy to accommodate them, although the favor was not reciprocated. Even though we did agree to book the studio as is, there was a verbal agreement that the stage would be a clean and workable space (the norm for any other studio!). Unfortunately they were extremely underhanded after the fact and tried to squeeze every dollar out of us that they could. \r
\r
We have learned our lesson from this unfavorable experience and will never shoot here again - we suggest you do the same.
