Prior to seeing Dr. Hess, I struggled with extreme lower back pain. At times I was barely able to dress myself and my husband even had to tie my tennis shoes. Daily activities were extremely difficult… getting in and out of the car…in and out of the bathtub…working out… I had exhausted everything that I knew to do. I had been to a chiropractor before, along with an acupuncturist and massage therapist, which only game me temporary relief. Finally, I decided to meet with an orthopedic surgeon.\r
After x-rays and an MRI I was told that I had a herniated disc and a disc that had degenerated to the point that the only option for me was surgery. I was devastated. I am 39 years old and I have always been mindful of my physical health. The thought of back surgery was completely defeating. However, feeling desperate for relief, I scheduled an anterior inter-body fusion on my lower back. My surgery was less than 2 weeks away when I was referred to Dr. Hess.\r
After my initial consultation with Dr. Hess, I had hope, which was something I hadn’t had in a long time. Dr. Hess has been treating me for a few months now. My life has changed dramatically. I am able to workout with much less pain. I can actually put on my pants in the morning with out sitting on the floor and scooting into them. On most days I can even tie my shoes!\r
I know this is just the beginning of the relief I am going to feel and I cannot thank you enough Dr. Hess! You are truly a blessing. \r
