Review content:
I recently decided to take a vehicle to Canada's after I purchased it as a project. It was an older vehicle that had been sitting a while, but it ran, just pretty rough. I am not mechanically inclined, but I wanted to take on this project as a do-it-yourself thing on the weekends, so I drove it over there and asked them to take a look at the vehicle and make a list of the things that need to be addressed or fixed. That way I could look up how to fix them, and take care of it myself, and save a buck, or I would have them fix something that looked too daunting.
They seemed to understand, took my keys and phone number and told me they'd call once they got to it - probably the following day. The next day-- nothing. So I called and asked what the status was and they said it would be another day before they got to it. The next day, nothing, again. I called again and got the same answer. This went on for over a week. They finally called and said my car was ready.
I went over and they said they went through it and fixed some things and it was now in driving condition (which it already was, kinda) and that I owed them $750.00 for the work and parts. I didn't authorize nor sign anything saying they could do the work to the car, they just did it. I didn't want them to do anything, just look at it and tell me what needed fixing, but they didn't do that. They performed unauthorized work to my car and overcharged for what they did.
I paid for it, out of embarrassment... there were 3 or 4 employees standing there as the mechanic told me what he did to fix it, but I am very upset about it. I don't know what to do, but I will NOT recommend them to anyone, nor will I ever use them again.
NEVER.
