Review content:
This was my husband's and my first expierence with Mercy Hospital. My husband has some serious health problems when about a month ago he awoke blind in his right eye. He needed surgery to stop the bleeding in his eye so he may see again. He had to quit taking his coumadin last week and I had to give him Lovenex shots twice a day to prevent clots. He quit eating at midnight the day before surgery, I left work early, we arrived at 2:30, tested his sugar and I & R, IV was put in then around 5:30 they came and told us the surgery was cancelled till the next day. Said they had a lot of trauma surgeries, nurses had to go off duty and his doctor postphoned the surgery. We were very upset, no one told us what time to come back or what to do about his meds. I understand that trama patients are top priority but the way we were pushed away was very unfair to us. Also they lied to us it was the hospital that cancelled the surgery because they didn't want to pay overtime to the nurses. Our doctor was very upset also and agreed that it was wrong what they did to us.
Pros: Every employee I incountered was extremely courtious.
Cons: The Hospital does not care about their patients.
