Review content:
I had a run of the mill door key made at this store by a young man who was very nice. When I tried to use the key it got stuck in the lock. My father was able to get the key out of the lock by spraying it with wd40 and a lot of patience. I took the key back to get it remade. The person behind the counter insisted that the key was made correctly and was totally rude. He kept trying to tell me that the lock was installed incorrectly. The original key fit perfectly and my father has been installing locks in his properties for over 30 years. Personally, I've installed locks in my properties for at least 10 years. I asked him to just go ahead and remake the key. Heck I even had the lock with me to test it out. The guy insisted that they have been making keys for years and that there was nothing wrong with the key. Anyway, I asked for the manager and he told me that he was the OWNER. I told him that dealing with him (as the owner) was worst than dealing with one of his sales people. I should have been treated better and he should not have acted as though I didn't know how to use a simple key to open a run of the mill lock. I took my business elsewhere and guess what I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE KEY MADE AT SOUTHGATE LOCK AND KEY. I WILL NEVER EVER SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY IN THAT STORE AGAIN. I go out of the way to shop local because I'm also a business owner but this experience was absolutely TERRIBLE!
