I went to Bella on a date on a recommendation from a friend and I was extremely happy I listened. Immediately when you walk into this authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant in the middle of Hollywood club central I felt right at home. Having lived in Italy I know authenticity when i see it. This place is candle lit, young, hip, and delicious. I had called ahead of time and made reservations which was good because the place was packed. We were greated by a friendly hostess and sat in a romantic candlelit booth. The wine list was obviously compiled with thought, but not overwhelming. As was the menu. We started with the Carpaccio di Manzo (very tasty) and the Ceaser salad to split. Have to say, this is one of the best Ceasers I have had in a long time! Our entrees were the Lasagna and Farfalle. The lasagna was the 2nd best I have ever eaten (next to my grandfather's) with imported Italian cheeses, and the Farfalle with chicken, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, and white wine sauce was a perfect light choice for my date who didn't want to feel stuffed. Our waiter was attentive, personable, but knew when to interact and when to leave us alone. We topped the meal off with some limoncello shots and a tiramisu to share. Fantastico! \r \r But what impressed me most about this place was the array of clientelle that was in there. You had the trendy, hip, young hollywood crowd having a birthday dinner and drinks, and tucked away in the corner I could see they had a few booths occupied and saved for celebrities who frequent the place. Then you had several couples who were like me and on a date. To be honest, i was skeptical of this place due to all the immitation italian places out there, but make no mistake about it, this is the real deal and worth a visit! Pros: Food, service, drinks, clientel Cons: can get very busy on weekends, so make reservations
