As I am writing this, I am lying in a very comfy bed at the Downtown Monterey Travelodge. I am using their wi-fi, which has been pretty good for the most part. I felt compelled to write a review because my girlfriend and I arrived in San Francisco early in the morning after catching a red eye flight. We then rented a car and drove 2 hours down to Monterey. Needless to say, we were REALLY tired. We arrived at the Travelodge around 10:30am, and despite the fact that check-in was at 2pm, the very friendly man at the front desk allowed us to check in EARLY!!! We were so grateful. He also answered all the questions I had about how to get to Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, etc. We then took a very much needed nap, woke up refreshed and continued the rest of the day sightseeing. \r \r The room is very clean and smells great. The bed, like I said before, is very comfortable. It's a little noisy outside, but I'm sure it'll get more quiet late at night when there are less cars and foot traffic. The shower head is a little low, but it really isn't that bad. Just tilt the nozzle up and it's all good. They also have FREE orange juice, apple juice and coffee for their guests 24 hours a day in the office. The location is great too. My girlfriend commented about the ""cute"" shops and neighborhood that's easily within walking distance of the motel. \r \r Overall, I am very happy I decided to stay here. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice clean place to stay and doesn't want to shell out the big bucks for a fancy hotel.\r
