Review content:
I arrived at Discovery Place with no idea what to expect. This was my first experience in treatment or “rehab”, and not surprisingly, I was terrified. Discovery Place staff and guests welcomed me with open arms which helped alleviate my fears. After seeing the property and meeting everyone, I quickly felt more at ease. For year I had attempted sobriety on my own, failing time and time again, so I knew this was the only option left. My experience at Discovery Place was, unquestionably, the best thing that ever happened to me. I can truly say Discovery Place saved my life. It introduced me to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, guided me through the 12 steps of recovery and showed me a new way to live. While I was there, I got to know many men who, like me, suffered from drug and alcohol addiction. When my time at Discovery Place was over, I didn't want to leave! I had come to know everyone in the community and considered some my closest friends. I can't imagine where I would be now without Discovery Place. If you genuinely want to change your life, this is the place to do it.
