Review content:
Had a problem with my furnace and I found WeatherGuard's ad on craigslist. Called them due to their low service call price ($50). Dharmen and his apprentice showed up. They told me that my gas valve was bad and it was $400 to fix it, but they would give me a deal and charge me $325 including the service call. I don't know anything about furnaces or how much parts/labor cost but it seemed a little high due to the small piece that needed replacement. I called another company which had been originally recommended to me by a friend while Dharmen was still at my home and they told me that if this was indeed the problem that it should only run $175 with a service call. I told Dharmen this and he dropped his price $100 and said he would do it for $225. I was about to agree until I read Tom J's very negative review on this site. I paid him the service fee and and called the other company to do the job. \r \r On the plus side, Dharmen did correctly diagnose the problem - the other company that ended up doing the work for $175 confirmed that I needed a new gas valve. My complaint is that he wanted to charge me $100 more than a competitor and led me to believe that I was getting a deal. \r \r So long story short, don't choose a company just based on what they charge for a service call.
