Review content:
If you’re thinking of just taking a Discovery Flight – stop thinking and DO IT! It’s probably one of the most fun things you will experience. \r
\r
If you are thinking of coming to Wings Air for helicopter training, I highly recommend it.\r
\r
I was fairly certain I was going to sign up for 25 hours of training when I came in for my Discovery Flight. I was not disappointed! I have since logged in about 28 hours of flight time. My experience here has been excellent. This is a very well run operation and the Wings team creates a professional and friendly environment. \r
\r
The CFIs (Brett, Stuart and Spencer) are first-rate! They are highly skilled, knowledgeable pilots who hold students to a high standard from the very beginning. I’ve only had flights with Stuart and Spencer so far and can attest that they are two of the bravest, most patient men I know. They are not only proficient pilots but outstanding teachers, as well. \r
\r
The aircraft are well maintained and as a student, you will verify this for yourself before every flight. Although the Schweizer 300C is not the most popular helicopter for training, I think it’s a great one to learn on. The throttle may be perceived as just one more thing you have to think about (at first), but it’s better to get accustomed to it in training than try to manage it later if you fly an ungoverned aircraft (or if the governor fails, although I’m sure that’s quite rare). \r
\r
Although learning to fly a helicopter is a formidable expense (and since I’m not rich, I have to work to finance it), this experience is definitely worth it! \r
