Review content:
I recently took my 5 month old lab mix to the Pampered Pooch based off of the reviews online as well as a personal review from a family member. We walked in and I wasn’t impressed but this being the first time I had ever boarded I thought that I must have been being too critical- so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. For our size dog it was $10 a night but since we were picking up after noon the next day, (by one single hour… because the worker said that was most convenient for her) we had to pay for an extra night. It was still very cheap so that wasn’t a huge issue. We told the worker we would be there at 1pm. We even called right before to make sure that someone would be there. No one answered. We arrived, along with another family to pick up their dog, at exactly 1. A man was there, in his pajamas, and as soon as we all walked in goes “I don’t work here.” After he tried to make a few unsuccessful phone calls to the owners he told us to just come in the back and pick out our dogs because he had no idea which ones they were. Bad idea. We walked in the back and it was AWFUL. I should have gone with my gut feeling and asked to see the back kennels like I wanted to when I dropped her off. They were dark and dirty and freezing cold. I have seen animal shelters in MUCH better state than these. When we got to our puppy she was laying in a puddle of her own pee and the “bedding, toys and blankets” that they promised would be in her kennel with her consisted of one toy ripped to shreds and covered in mud and one blanket about the size of a washcloth and thickness of a piece of paper. I was livid. Our dog gets carsickness pretty easily so she is not a fan of car rides- we always have to pick her up and force her in the vehicle. When we got outside, she ran up to the truck and jumped in like she was afraid a bear was going to eat her. I really cannot even explain the amount of disappointment that I feel in the Pampered Pooch. Do not trust these people with your fur babies
