Prepare to Pay the Maximum\r I was given an estimate of $170.58 for replacing an oxygen sensor ( $83.75+tax for the sensor and $80.55 for labor). I bought a 12 month warrantied vehicle specific sensor for $29.95+tax and it took me less than 15 minutes to install it. Blue Ribbon told me their cost for the sensor was $33 and that they are justified to mark it up. Furthermore, their labor estimating program listed .9 hours of labor. It's only my opinion, but marking up a part 250% and grossly exaggerating the labor appears unethical to me. Their estimating program must be geared towards technicians who regularly sit the wrong way on a toilet seat. To Blue Ribbon's credit, they are not breaking any laws. Vote with your dollars and take your business elsewhere.
