"When I was admitted to the hospital for dehydration, I was put on a detox program. I woke up that morning trying to get ready to go to the office and couldn't even button my pants, I was delirious. I didn't even know what day of the week it was. I spent 6 days in the hospital, when I left it took 2 people to pull me out of a chair so that I could stand. My wife had done some extensive research and found HIR on the Internet and made arrangements for me to go there. I tried to keep an open mind about the whole process at least as clear as my mind was at the time. I found everyone to be very pleasant and accommodating. Through the group sessions, the AA meetings and the individual counseling I came to the realization that I was addicted to alcohol and had the disease of alcoholism. I considered myself to be one of the lucky ones because my recovery seemed to be very fast. Just half of the first week into the program the fog or haze, as I would call it, lifted for me. The rest is now history. I was well on my way into the second week. The HIR experience for me was a good one and the track that we followed seemed to work for me.. There is a lot of structure involved and HIR keeps you on task and that was good. The ultimate result for me was to recover, stay sober, and find the directions to take so that I would have continued success once I left the program. I am very happy to say that I accomplished all my goals and now considered myself a sober alcoholic. I can only be very thankful to my wife, my family for their love and support along with my experience with HIR for my success MY LIFE HAS CHANGED!!" C.M.
