For the good: Great atmosphere, decent food, good tasting drinks\r \r Bad: tiny portions, over-priced food (and not stellar, just decent), and although drinks taste good, there was practically no alcohol in them. Be forewarned, they charge for chips and salsa. They also are running some kind of strange obsession with pickled vegetables.\r \r We had the fish tacos - and like I said - they were decent. The fish was well flavored. The rice and beans, however, appeared portioned for an infant - there was a tiny plate brought on the side with a sprinkling of rice and so few beans I could have counted them. I'm not one of those people who crave massive portions - Definitely a European style eater who enjoys tapas and small tasty portions, but this was so small it looked like those jokes about NY chic-chic restaurants. \r \r I guess I just get put off when I feel a restaurant is trying to pull one over on me - It feels as though the owner is nickle and diming the patrons - shaving cost off the top with tiny portions and weak drinks to pay the probably exorbidant rent at a prime Pearl street location. I have sympathy, for sure, but it doesn't make me want to return. \r \r If you're looking for excellent food - go with the Kitchen - the food tastes like a work of art. If you're looking for yum Mexican, I'd go with Rio Grande - the margaritas are excellent and the food is reasonably priced, filling and tasty.
