Review content:
Most Japanese or pseudo Japanese restaurants pride themselves on the freshness of their fish, this restaurant obviously doesn't care. We ordered the Chirashi, which is raw seafood on a bed of rice. We noticed that the tuna had an unusually dark tinge to it. We tasted it and it was powdery and flaky. We mentioned it to the waitress. She insisted that all their fish were fresh. We have been eating sushi for more than 20 years and know that sashimi grade fish has to be different from fish that you fry. It has to be fresh, texture has to be good and on top of it all, freshness still ranks number one. After paying for the bill, we asked for the owner to mention the fact to him that the fish was not fresh. He acted as if we were non-paying customers and were trying to rob him of a meal. I had already paid for the meal at this point and it was obvious that we were not trying to stinge. He obviously does not know fresh sashimi grade fish from any other fish and does not take pride in his restaurant. He gave us a grin, showing his braces and insisted that we were wrong, then asked us what we were going to do about it. I intend to let the city know that this restaurant it serving stale raw fish. Somehow I get the feeling that most people have not come across this because nobody orders the raw fish there. I would recommend that everyone avoid this restaurant like the plague. I wouldn't be surprised to see rodents running around if someone were to put a candid camera there. For the price that is more expensive than Nama Sushi down the street, they should at least serve fresher food than Nama Sushi given that their chefs are Korean anyway. They should also stop hiring illegal Mexican immigrants as dishwashers. Cons: Bad service, worse food, horrible owner
