First time seeing Monica, and overall very impressed. Haircut was great (she gave me the exact bangs I asked for), and although the highlights did not go as planned, I was very pleased with the way she handled the situation. \r
My hair turned out to be a bit more damaged than either one of us realized (from another stylist's botched job and my own wizardry with a box of Clairol) so the highlights and color simply didn't take properly and I was not happy with the results. She agreed with me, explained what had happened and apologized for not realizing sooner that my hair was so damaged. She explained that with the condition my hair was in, bleach, the only solution to removing the botched color I walked in with, would be too damaging to my hair, and suggested coloring my hair an all-over dark brown. I agreed, and the result was great--very pretty chocolate brown and my hair now looks really shiny & healthy. \r
I thought Monica was very personable, and liked the way she explained everything to me. I also appreciated the way she insisted that we fix my hair before I left the salon instead of returning another day (my appt was @ 2pm and we were there until 7pm). She really didn't want me to leave until I was happy with the way I looked--most stylists could care less.\r
I would definitely recommend Monica to anyone. She is one of the few stylists that I've been to over the years that I have been truly impressed with.
