Review content:
I worked at Doug's Wild Side for 2-years in college and knew all the goings on. Doug was very careful to who he got his puppies from. He most often went to the breeders home or at least did checks on the breeder. All of the puppies were always vet checked by Centre Animal Hospital on arrival and were always healthy. He turned down any 'shady' breeders. In vet school, I learned that bacterias lay dormant in the intestinal tract of a dog and can be brought on by the stress of a new environment/ NEW HOME, bacterias such as campylobactor and cocidia. I also learned that all puppies have worms. worming is regular puppy maintenance. Doug always reimbursed for any such minor problems that occurred in their new homes. I think you would find, if your dog was from a puppy mill it would be congenitally ill and have major defects. Doug always provided breeder info to customers who asked, along with parents photos. I loved working there- I just hated dealing with really dumb college girls buying puppies and claiming to have 'rescued them' because they were totally ignorant to pack mentality. then having them report the store to the SPCA and the SPCA to come in rolling their eyes and saying how much of their time had been wasted. You can put 10 dogs in one room and the puppies will always sleep on 1, because they are pack animals. The store had and I'm sure still has immaculate kennel records and a perfect record for all inspections. Doug always was very careful to who he got his dogs from and ensured they were well cared for by his staff. He has a great reputation with the community and is dedicated to cat rescue
