i have stopped by petros a couple of times for lunch while on my walks and always had a lovely time. the food is outstanding--house salad just amazing. not thinking that i would need a reservation on a wednesday night, i stopped in with a girlfriend only to find the restaurant packed. as we walked in the door i worried that we would not be able to have dinner there at all. rachel, the hostess, remembered my name and told me that the restaurant was indeed full, but if i would order a cocktail--aphorodite she recommended--that as soon as she had anything at all, we would be seated. only about 15 minutes later, she found us a darling little table by the window. our dinner was exceptional and the service attentive. petros himself even greeted us at our table. these personal touches made our night.
