Review content:
My family and I made 8:30 reservations at Petros -- we had been told it was the ""Best Greek Food in LA"". My Yiayia and Papou are owners of a well established Greek restaurant on the East Coast so we were expecting the same type of experience. Great food with Greek service. We arrived right at our reservation time and were told by our hostess that ""your table is ready, the folks sitting there now are just about to pay, we'll seat you in a minute"". This was the same answer we heard her give ten other parties that were waiting on their reservation. There were three hostesses behind the hostess stand and not one of them could get their act together. We waited in the over crowded bar area for nearly an hour, hearing the waitress give the same excuse to all the other waiting patrons. Not a good way to start off a dinner experience. \r

An hour later we were seated at our table, and fifteen minutes after that our waitress came by to take our drink orders (we had brought our own good wine) - all we needed were glasses. She came back ten minutes later with glasses. We are now almost an hour and a half at this restaurant with little service and no food. We finally ordred. . .kokkonisto (lamb with spaghetti) the flavoring was off and was filled with too much nutmeg and cinnamon, the chicken souvlaki (chicken was overcooked and dry - almost crumbly), swordfish (cooked on the outside not on the inside and hardly seasoned) and the feta-cheese encrusted lamb (potentially the only good thing on the menu) - Our waitress tried to make up for our displeasure by being friendly and curteous, but by nearly 11pm, we were just ready to leave the place. I won't be back and don't reccomend this place to anyone. . .if you're there for hype then by all means, pay a visit to this place and endure the wait, if you are there to eat a good Greek meal, go elsewhere.
