Review content:
I am truly amazed at all of the great write ups that Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley received in this post. I started seeing Dr. Lee when he opened his practice on 39th Dr. & Deer Valley many many years ago. He was a good vet back then even though upselling was part of the clinic's strategy. Then he moved away for several years to service the wealthier clients in the valley. When he returned we took our pup to him but was usually scheduled with Dr. Derksen. On one visit my son's puppy was a little under the weather. Dr. Derksen went to town. She left the room and the messenger brought the bill for surgery...about 2,700.00 to remove a blockage she showed me in an xray. She told me the dog could die without the surgery so what could I do. She said I did not have time for a 2nd opinion and that Dr. Lee agreed (although he never met with me face to face). We almost lost him to the surgery. There was no blockage after all!!! He left the clinic leaking blood and had to go back 2x's to be rehydrated, which were additional charges. I sumitted a complaint to the board of examiners. I don't know what happened to Dr. Derksen, but she isn't there anymore. I pleaded for some kind of financial relief from the clinic since I am on a fixed income, but they were cold and uncaring about the entire ordeal. I wrote Dr. Lee a letter, but if he is this caring person that I read in these posts, he certainly was not caring to me or my situation.
