September 2006, I went to Target to buy an MP3 player. I made a selection along with a radio transmitter for the device. I got to my truck 10 minutes before the store closed and realized the device and the player were not compatible. I returned to the store thinking surely I would be able to take care of the issue that night. After about 30 minutes of trying to find compatible devices, the manager came to me and told me to leave (several times). I asked for a refund and he said he could not do that until the next morning. He must have been aware that I was still in need of assistance when he authorized the cashiers to close out the register. I will have to return later to get my refund. I was in Mcallen from out of town on a business trip and purposfully went shopping on a Sunday so I would not spend my work week in a store. I would stay away from any company that makes billions of dollars a year and cannot allow a customer who is in the store prior to it's official closing to take care of a matter that was recognized that night. Customer service goes down the drain more often than not these days. And I bet it is often because a manager who probably makes in excess of $50,000 (quite probably more) a year doesn't think it is worth it to stay a few extra moments to provide a customer with a good experience. I will get my refund and take my complaint as far up the Target ladder as possible. Pros: Clerks very friendly Cons: Manager rude and without good customer service skills
