Review content:
My young daughter had a traumatic experience the first time she went to the dentist (at another practice) at age 2 - so I have been hesitant to schedule another appointment. She is now 3 and a half, and we went to see Dr. Angeletti today for the first time. It was AMAZING.
I cannot say enough good things about the dental hygienist who worked with her. In the beginning, she let my daughter sit on my lap in the chair, and offered to brush her teeth with her new toothbrush (they gave her the ""goody bag"" before the appointment started). My daughter was given ""rock star"" sunglasses to wear while the bright spotlight was on, and with about 10 minutes of gentle coaching, was sitting in the chair by herself like a pro! The hygienist let my daughter hold ""Mr. Thirsty"" (the tube that sucks water out of your mouth) and use it on herself, and pick her own toothpaste flavor.
When she was done, she called for Dr. Angeletti, who came in and was also wonderful with my young daughter. As we got ready to leave, my daughter yelled out ""I HAVEN'T HUGGED YOU, YET!"" and gave Dr. Angeletti a huge hug - a pretty big deal for my little girl who 45 minutes earlier didn't even want to sit in the chair alone, and had her head buried in my shoulder! The ""I Have No Cavities"" picture for the office wall was just one more wonderful touch.
I think we've finally found out Family Dentist!
