Review content:
I lived in Japan for many years and I know the difference between American sushi and Japanese sushi. If you are a sushi snob, this is not authentic Japanese sushi, keep looking. I tried the nigiri and the hamachi and maguru were only ok, not what I'd expect in a first rate sushi shop.\r However, if you can enjoy Americanized sushi, the offerings here are very good. My wife and I shared three cooked rolls and all of them were tasty. We also tried the yakitori which was slightly overcooked.\r They American rolls are heavy on cream cheese and avacado, but that's what distinguishes American sushi. If you consider that in Japan corn and mayonaise are popular ingredients on pizza, what we do to sushi is not such a cultural afront.\r Our waiter was excelent and right there whenever we needed service. Our bill for two nigiri, three large rolls, yakatori and a large Japanese beer was under $60.\r Sit on the patio, the view of the Catalinas is awesome. Pros: Great patio with a view. Good American style maki. Cons: Traditional style sushi doesn't measure up.
