JL & I brought a friend (DC) here who was visiting from out of town to have what I thought would be a quintessential Ft Lauderdale waterside brunch experience, and that did end up being the case but in the worst sense possible. Our server was very distracted and barely made proper eye contact, and it took over 30 minutes to get our entrees. In the meantime, both DC & JL had pronounced their Bellinis undrinkeable, although I'm fairly certain that a degree in mixology is really not required in order to concoct a half-way decent one. \r \r The kicker, however, was the entrees. DC had an eggs benedict, JL had an omelet, and I had a the special, an unappetizing pile of layered items that I should have known better than to order given the fact that it had 6 or more disconnected ingredients in it. The eggs benedict came with a few blueberries on the side and the omelet came, well, alone, with the two-thirds of the plate not occupied by said omelet sitting there sadly and glaringly empty. To add insult to injury, a person at the next table over had an omelet as well but with a heaping amount of fruit on the side. When the waiter was asked, he simply shrugged and stated that they'd run out of fruit. He had to be pressed to go and search for something to have as a side, and when he finally returned with the omelet there were a few forlorn blueberries sadly rolling around the previously completely (and still mostly) empty vast expanse of plate. I looked at it with mouth agape but this didn't seem to phase the waiter, who scuttled off in a sweaty hurry. \r \r In case you're wondering, the final verdict was that the eggs were ok, the omelet was flavorless, and the less said about my dish the better. At least we had a good laugh afterward.\r \r Based on my previous experience here which was better but unremarkable, it seems that this place is pretty much just coasting on its reputation. The seemingly hopeless quest for affordable & decent Fort Lauderdale waterfront brunching goes on.
