Review content:
How to begin with just how bad my experience with this vendor was! I purchased an old piece of furniture (a chest with a lot of small drawers) in San Diego, and the store that sold it to me arranged with Postal Convenience, to ship the piece to the east coast. When it arrived, I immediately opened it and discovered that the chest was internally in pieces. The store rep, Dennis, who claimed he had ?packed the --- out of it,? had in fact only put a couple of layers of bubble wrap around it, and put it in some pieced-together cardboard boxes, with no cushioning at all on the bottom. It was so far from UPS?s basic requirements that when two inspectors finally showed up, they were appalled. A furniture restoration expert looked at the piece and said that the packing was a joke. These three experts said the piece should have been crated. When I looked into what it would cost to have it repaired, I was told it would be so expensive that it wouldn?t be worth it. After months of delay, I finally got back the amount for which I?d insured the piece. Dennis, however, informed me that sinced I had not insured against the cost of shipping, Postal Convenience wouldn?t refund that cost. I ended up stuck with paying for the very packing job that destroyed my piece. So, customers beware and, if you ship through this place, be sure to insure for the cost of shipping, as you won?t be able to expect any kind of honorable behavior if things go wrong.
