Review content:
Using Accountable Moving and Storage was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. Our move was constantly mismanaged, as cherished items were lost, destroyed, and misplaced. I had to spend over a month working with the national office to gain any resolution, as Accountable was anything but accountable. RESPONSE FROM Bekins Agent - Accountable Moving & Storage: Dear Mr. Callanan, I apologize that your move did not go as you had anticipated. I would like to comment on my company's role in your move. We were hired by another Bekins agency in Livermore, CA. This is the agency that managed your move. We surveyed your items at your home in Seattle at that agency's request. We picked your shipment up in Seattle and stored it at our Seattle location. A driver that works for a Wheaton agent in CA (Wheaton is a partner company with Bekins) came to pick the shipment up in Seattle. At that time, standard operating procedure requires that the driver review the inventory that we created with you at your home in Seattle. The driver followed this procedure and did not note any missing items from our master inventory list. This means that the driver picked up every piece of your shipment from our warehouse in Seattle. That driver then travelled to his warehouse in La Habra, CA and dropped your items off at the warehouse there. Then the final delivery was made to your new home in Goleta, CA. I have done some checking with our corporate office in Indianapolis to find that some of your items were located and taken to you. I have also learned that you have been compensated for your missing items that were unable to be located. The intent was not to lose your items, but I hope that you find some solace in the fact that you have been compensated for those items. Again, I am really sorry that our team failed to perform to your satisfaction, but I hope that the closure and settlement of your claim has helped with the sting of a less-than-perfect move. If you would like to discuss this further, please give me a call or email. Sincerely, Jeff Gish, President and GM
