Recently returning to Chapel Hill after a 12 year hiatus, I was surprised, and maybe a little concerned, to hear that La Residence had become a hopping bar. Eventually overcoming my reservations, I tried LaRes to see what all the hype was about. The food was better then ever; new chef seems to keep it on the cutting edge. Eating late during dinner service, it was a pleasure to see the young college crowd arrive. As LaRes hasn't lost focus on the food and art of fine dining service I believe the fusion of nightlife and fine dining is a win-win for customers and restaurant alike.
Pros: Late night menu, Live music, Great servers
