Review content:
I went to Fantasy Weddings by Anna Marie to get my wedding dress. What impressed me the most was their friendliness about letting me walk in and try on all the dresses I wanted. I narrowed it down to two dresses and then because they were two different prices... I opted for the less expensive quote. At the end of the day the seamstress who straight up lied to me over and over again charged me almost $300 more than I had originally been told. No sweat though, because I thought, what's an extra $300 on top of the tens of thousands of dollars I was already spending. The dress is going to look great right? WRONG. The seamstress told me time and time again that she could fit the dress to me perfectly (after all she's been doing this for over 20 years and made her own dresses before that), but I was never happy with all the gathering at the umpire waste line. She continued to tell me there's nothing she can do... that I am not 5'7"" so it's just going to be like that. When I asked her why she talked me into this dress over the other original dress she told me that I had my heart set on this dress (really? you're going to lie to me about how I felt and the conversation we had... that's a little much, don't you think?). At the end of the day, I am not 5'7"" so the gathering shows up big time in all my pictures, both action and posed shots. Very disappointing. I paid a lot of money for the alterations to have her tell me there's nothing she can do. And when I talked to another seamstress I was told there is something she could have done... it would just have been time consuming. So basically she charged me for a service she did not provide and come to think about it complained about how long it took her to do the alterations she actually did. (maybe she did. Whenever I didn't like something, IE- my shoulder strap being sewn on twisted, she complained about her assistant's work. I feel like I just got out of a horrible relationship and would only tell those who are 5'7"" (god bless you) that Fantasy Weddings is a great bridal shop. Just be careful and know that their follow through goes out the door once they have your money. (another fun story - they almost gave my maid of honor another maids dress (even though it was 4 sizes too small) and when at the last second my maid of honor and I figured out their mistake, we asked what would have happened if the bridesmaids dress would have been altered..... their response, the bridesmaid whose dress it actually was would have to pay extra to get my maid of honor's dress taken down the 4 sizes) Two thumbs down
