Review content:
I went to many vets in Alief and beyond for 2 years and COULD NOT find one that was very knowledgeable or kind. Referred to specialty clinic that charged $500 the 1st visit! The pymt plan was ""pay now or we keep your dog & charge boarding fees"". First concern-ability to pay at visit. In 1994, I asked a groomer if she knew a good vet that was very caring. Without hesitation she recommended Dr. Maxson. He treated my sickly girl for the next 10 years and was so very kind and loving to her. He always showed consideration for us too; offering treatment options, realizing that one's inability to pay for expensive treatment in no way diminished one's love for their pet. Husband & I were devastated when Helen was diagnosed with a fast growing cancer; she died in my arms 4 weeks later. We called Dr. Maxson, Jan said bring her in. In the exam room, both of us crying, our girl wrapped in her blanket, Janice gently took her from me & began to clean her face and body. Husband asked Janice for scissors (no explanation). She returned with scissors, brush, a twist tie, and envelope, then left us alone for the next hour. Our dog was a schnauzer/poodle mix, runt of the litter that grew to 38 lbs. & looked like an English sheepdog. In 12 1/2 years, I never cut any hair on her head. Husband brushed her hair up, tied w/ twist tie, & tearfully, we cut a 4"" lock of her hair. The grief that engulfed us extended to family & friends; everyone loved Helen. We were so touched when we rec?d. a sympathy card from Dr. Maxson & staff. This vet truly understands that pets are FAMILY MEMBERS & respects them as such when in his care. Office & exam rooms have always been spotless & odor free. Dr. Maxson is extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastically spends as much time as needed. Staff has always been wonderful about giving short-notice appts. 3 Yrs. ago we got 2 VERY rowdy puppies; so brother went to new home in Magnolia. My Great Friend! was so impressed with Dr. Maxson that she still uses his clinic
Pros: CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, VERY REASONABLE, EXCEPTIONAL DOCTOR WITH EXCEPTIONAL STAFF
Cons: NOT ONE
