Review content:
Somewhere between Zola and F. Scott's lies geographically as well dining experience the Tayst Restaurant. The presentation and quality of each ""tayst"" (soup, appetizer, entree & dessert) were all excellent (although the creme brulee was very good, it was not the best we had ever eaten - as the owner was prepared to wager). The wait staff was friendly, not overly attentive and well versed in the wines available on their list (including several rather arcane wines). Compared to any ""fine"" dining experience in Nashville (a difficult search, trust me), the pricing (and portions) is very reasonable and certainly competitive.
Pros: excellent food, superior service, gregarious owner
Cons: small wine list, mediocre ambiance, crowded
