This is our second time doing a double birthday party with Debs Family Disco. The first time, 4 years ago, we did the party at Debs' night club. The staff and facility were amazing, but the kids were not mature enough for us to declare the party a total success. This year, with our kids older and more ready to appreciate the disco atmosphere (son turning 5, daughter turning 7), the experience was much better. In fact, this was among the best kid parties we've ever been to!
Debs team made us look like hero hosts! Lots of kudos from our guests!
We had about 80 children and 150 guests in total. Debs staff came to our venue (Ariel and Batman dancers along with DJ) and brought props and music. They were very organized during the planning phase of the party. Their music selections were SPOT ON. The 7 year old crowd knew nearly every song, and danced almost continuously throughout the party. The 5 year olds also enjoyed the action. Nearly every child left with a big smile and exhausted from so much dancing and laughing. Batman and Ariel definitely injected positive energy into the event. They were happy and engaged the entire time. The kids were drawn to them like magnets, and a wonderful dancing dynamic was created in spite of some shy kids in attendance.
For anyone else planning a party like this, here is some advice: (a) Debs Family Disco is great; (b) make sure that you have space for the parents to mingle, a bit removed from the dancing and music; (c) as with any party, having a good food and drink assortment is key; (d) be sure helpers are on duty to assist guests with drinks, food, and general things that come up with little kids. We did these things this time around, and it worked out very well. Our kids and guests had a great time.
We recommend Debs Family Disco for sure.
