Since Otero and Sons started work on removing and replacing the shingles on my roof, it has been nothing short of complete frustration. When the work started with the removal of the current shingles, the crew dented the garage door with the dump trailer they were using to haul off the debris. Next, instead of starting the work on Friday once the old shingles were off, the crew came and simply dropped the new shingles off and left. I had to call the main office just to find out why the work was not being done. I was told that ""they didn't have a crew"" and it would be fine. If this was communicated upfront or even before the crew took off it would have reduced my frustration with not knowing the status of the project. After two days, no more work was being completed and I had not heard from Otero and Sons. I went up to check to roof to find it was not completed to my satisfaction, the stucco was damaged around both fire places, the shingles installed in the dead valley where my garage connects to the house were not aligned and the roof patch was not fully applied to all the roof penetrations. I called the business and they stated that the work was complete. When I told them of my concerns, they said they would send Lawrence Otero out to review the job. Again no time frame was communicated to me for when to expect him. He showed up a week later and argued with me about the shingles in the dead valley but agreed to send a crew back to re-stucco around the fire places, paint the roof penetrations and install some diversion channels around areas of drainage concern. He asked for payment at this time of all but $500. The crew came back the following week and did some of the work but did not complete the repairs agreed upon to the south fireplaces. I again did not receive any contact from the business that the work was completed. I was sent a bill for the remaining $500 the following day. At this point I contacted the business again and left several messages advising that if the repairs were not completed and I was not contacted I would put a stop payment on the check I gave them. I was finally contacted back and spoke with Lawrence a few days later and he agreed to send a crew out to again complete the remaining work. The next week a crew came out and made some repairs but did not repair the stucco around the fireplace as originally agreed upon. The company is now demanding payment for their services. This has been the worst experience that I have ever had with any business. I would never recommend them unless you want a mediocre job and lots of hassles and headaches.
