We initially arranged to have Angels Moving Auto (a broker service) to move our cars from New York to San Francisco for $1050. They agreed on the price until the day before they were supposed to pick up our cars then they decided to raise our price to $1200. We got upset and decided to get in touch with the carrier Orlando ourselves. Orlando supposedly operates Western Distributors Inc with his wife themselve. It is a carrier company that uses brokers sometimes to get business and we got his information from Angels Moving Auto. Orlando said he will move the car for $1175. Without the broker, this way he actually will make about $400 more for the 2 cars we have. \r

Boy were we in for a huge surprise on the day we picked up our cars (yesterday). \r

First of all, it is supposed to be Door- Door. We end up having to drive half an hour to pick up our car when he was supposed to drive to our house and our house is very close to the freeway. ( Literally 4 blocks away). \r

Then more surprises - One of the cars has a broken rear window, and our BMW has about 7 scratches that is new and caused by Orlando. Total length about 10 CM and they are obvious. When we asked Orlando about these scratches, he said he did not know what happen. He also lost the paper that had marked down all the old scratches that was on the car before his pick up! How convenient! Then He said it is a used car (las in since it is used, you should expect new scratches after being moved ?!). He refused to pay for any damages. During our negotiation, he then lied to us and said he will move the car to a car shop to take ia look. But he actually did was drove the car up to his trunk and try to take it away!! Luckily we realized what he was trying to do quickly and stood in front of the car blocking him from doing so. \r

I could not believe what was happening to us!!! We felt helpless. We want our car back but such injustice!!! We felt pointless to argue with him further. He was not capable of being reasonable. We ended up paying him and get our cars back and deal with it some other way. The only other way is to speak to his wife and I think I know what she would say.....
