Review content:
I couldn't believe the 'rude customer service' comments.....I've been here probably close to thirty times, and I've been treated exceptionally well each time. I find their atmosphere to be high class without being stuffy - a delicate balance that must be tough to manage. I should know - I've worked in the foodservice business for 13 years. Perhaps treating the waitstaff like human beings instead of indentured servants would help? \r
At any rate, the Uptown usually showcases a variety of specials along with their regular menu (try the escargots - you will not be disappointed!) For awhile, they had a 'cheeses around the world' platter that was simply divine! And once, just once, they featured a Mako shark steak with an imaginitive little basil-pine nut slaw....I still have dreams about that dinner!\r
Great beers on tap, wine for any budget....the only way they could improve would be to move to a more urban setting where the locals are less of the 'meat and potatoes, quantity over quality' variety. But then I'd never be able to get a table! Keep up the great work, Uptown!
