Review content:
I worked with The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter in Atlanta, GA to organize an event aimed to interest middle-school-aged girls in engineering and science careers. With the owner's (George) help in brainstorming a creative set of hands-on experiments we could do and the variety of educational products from the site, we were able to create a fun program for girls that introduced them to several physics-based theories and properties of magnetism while also giving them plenty of hands-on experience, which the girls loved! We used the magnet board (Magnetic_Board) to show the different patterns of magnetic field lines, and we used the Bouncy Magnets (SPEC 1500) to demonstrate strong repulsive fields & also just for fun. We also used the Copper pipe and ring magnet kits (SCI_001) to demonstrate Lenz's effect in a paramagnetic material, and the girls LOVED that especially! If you can afford it, also spring for the big block of Aluminum or Copper and a much larger magnet to demonstrate this same property - it amazed even the adults in the room (which included professional engineers as well as parents of the children). We also purchased special give-away magnets (2 magnet pins, 2 small spheres, and 2 small discs) to give to each girl, but we made sure to give safety warnings, and George was able to help me know exactly what I need to tell girls this age because he works with kids close to this age often doing magnets classes of his own.\r

We also appreciated the educational discount we received because it made the items a better deal! Overall, great experience, and we have already planned to use the magnets as give-aways again in our next event.
Pros: variety, educational products & discounts, fast shipping
