My situation was unique, as I'm sure most are. I was moving, with a uhaul trailer on the back of my truck over a 500 mile journey, when my wheel made a hugely loud noise, and the brakes failed to work. I coasted safely to a nearby hotel, and checked in for the night, the wheel looked as though it would fall off! I called first thing in the morning, and a friendly man answered the phone. I briefly explained my situation, and he said that he could squeeze me in that morning. I limped the truck over, where they lent me a jack to get the trailer off, and then promptly looked at the truck. I was stranded there for a bit, and they made me feel at home for the time being. After looking at the truck, they showed me the failed wheel bearing. Ordered the part, and installed it, even let me watch! They were friendly, extremely competent auto technicians, and they got me back on the road before noon! The guys were so straightforward and honest about everything, that I would drive over 300 miles back there in the future just to get that kind of trustworthy service!
