Review content:
I took my son in for a possibly infected cut, and when they were done taking a sample they instructed me that I was to take it to the lab.
What kind of practice does not send out their own samples?!
At the risk of sounding snooty, isn't that their job? And somehow it doesn't seem safe for me to be carting around biological material.
Then I got to the lab and had to wait 30 minutes to give them my ID and insurance card. By this time my son had developed a fever and was inconsolable.
Needless to say, I am switching pediatricians.
It is completely shocking to me that any office would not provide this service for their patients, and I can't believe anyone would stand for that.
If I wasn't afraid he had some crazy weird staph bacteria I would have thrown that bag in their faces and told them that they should be ashamed of themselves sending sick people off to the hospital to drop off their own samples. Unbelievable.
