Review content:
I brought my 8 year old son in to this location to see about starting him in a martial arts program. After receiving some very basic information from one of the instructors, I was badgered into signing my son up for a free introductory lesson. During this lesson he was taught to kick and punch others, but with no mention of not using these fighting skills against others unless necessary. I had to remind him of this later on. The instructor, whose name I can not remember, seemed very harsh and intimidating when dealing with my son, who had a hard time understanding his limited english. I was unsure if this was just the way all martial arts classes go, but after seeing other schools in the area I know that to be untrue. Immediately following the lesson I was led into the office where I was put through a high pressure sales pitch. All of their programs were well over a hundred dollars per month and required me to sign a long term contract! After I told the instructor that I would be checking out other schools in the area and would not be able to commit to a long term contract that night, I was met with an indignant attitude and more high pressure sales. If you are looking for martial arts in the Wilmington area, there are much better schools to check out that have english speaking instructors, more cost effective programs, and friendly instructors.
