This is a long review but I laid out my entire bad experience with National Pawn so maybe it will save other people time and energy. Stay far away from this place because they do not know what they are doing and they are extremely unprofessional. \r

This was the first time I have been to a pawn shop but I gave it a chance based on the commercials. The customer service was awful from the moment I walked in the door. After standing at the front of the store at the podium (like at a restaurant) for a couple of minutes while employees stood doing nothing and talking to each other someone finally greeted me by saying nothing more than ""whatcha got"". The guy took me to the counter where now two people said nothing to me as they roughly handled the two Rolex watches I had brought in. I had one solid 18k gold one and one stainless Rolex. \r

One guy asked “what’s the deal with these?” I told them that they were my father’s watches who had passed away. I had no use for them since I do not wear watches and that is why I was exploring the option of selling them. They took the gold one and walked away from me while they tested the gold on the watch. They huddled together with their backs turned to me and tried to block my view of what they were doing. They were doing an acid test to see if it was really gold. \r

They did not ask me if they could do the test or explain the process at all (even though I had seen my father do this test when I was a child and knew how it worked). It was all very shady. The problem with this is for this gold test you have to scratch the item against a stone to get a sample of gold in order to test it with acid. They scratched an 18k gold Rolex without asking me if I was OK with it, they tried to hide the fact they were doing it, and left minor scratches on the watch from doing the test. This is ridiculous and totally unprofessional. \r

They handed the Rolex back to me and said it was not testing as 18k and it was fake. I smiled and said OK because at this point I had seen enough to know they had no clue what they were doing and it was not the kind of place I wanted to do business. I did not bother telling them that my father was a jeweler and had purchased the watches from the authorized Rolex dealer he worked for so they were most certainly genuine and the gold one IS solid 18k yellow gold (case and bracelet band). I decided to handle the situation with tact (something they lack) and just walk out. \r

I ended up taking the watches to a jewelry store that buys antique jewelry and they confirmed that the watches were genuine and the one was in fact 18k gold (which I already knew). I ended up selling the gold one to a real jewelry store and keeping the other. \r

I would not dare go back to this pawn shop trying to present itself as a respectable business because they have no expertise at all and the customer service is non existent. I get better service at the DMV. National Pawn is awful!\r
