Review content:
I just read the reviews and really don't know what to make out of them except maybe some people just like to complain. By reading those reviews the consistent theme was the A/C might have not been working very well in the dog days of summer. After all it was 40 straight days above 100 degrees so that is possible. I can't argue that but can give you a review on the food.\r

My wife and I went to Angus Grill on a whim at the spur of the moment in late November. I did not have a coupon of any sort. It was a date night and I wanted to try something different. We used to love Rodizio's in the same complex before it closed years ago. We went on a Saturday night and walked straight in for dinner without a reservation. I was concerned because that's never a good sign when you can walk in on a Saturday night on Westheimer and go straight to the table. \r

Anyway our waitress was exceptional. Since we knew what to do we just needed to know how to call for meat. We started with the salad bar and honestly it seemed a little light in terms of diverse foods. I am comparing them to Fogo de Chao in this instance. But I agree with the thought, ""You don't win friends with salad."" I am here for the meats!!! \r

They must have had a spy looking at our table because as soon as I flipped the meat card over the meats were there. I always make sure the card is visible on the edge of the table as to not interfere with the staff or them to interfere with me. Meanwhile between juicy bites our waitress never let our glass get below the halfway mark. My wife loved the cheesebread as well as me, but I am there for meat. So once my wife had a not so hot batch, she barely mentioned it to the waitress and voila she brings back a steaming hot rack. My waitress asked was everything to our liking and I mentioned there was one meat I was in love with but I haven't seen it in a few go rounds. No sooner said than done. A fresh skewer was brought to me. Tremendous!!!\r

I rated this only 4 stars as there were only a handful of things that need minor improvements. The salad bar was really just ok. But if you are a carnivore then you can pass it up. One one star whiner was right in the mash potatoes tasted like they were out of a box. My key lime pie dessert was just ok as well.\r

The strength of this place is the great meats and exceptional service. Judging by the bad summertime reviews and reconciling it to my experience, management must have heard the complaints and rallied the troops to initiate a turnaround. I think the one star reviewers need to try it again without being biased toward your last impression. I will return to dine again in the near future. \r
