Businiess name:  Oakwood Club Apartments

Review content:
I lived at the Oakwood club apartments for 3½ years. And while the apartments themselves were fairly typical experiences with bad neighbors and management made me glad to leave this place when I did. The main reason I stayed here for so long was rent was comparatively cheap, I had a dishwasher & a washer & dryer, and their pet policy allowed for my larger dog to live there. Those were the pluses. The first major drawback seems to be that if you were willing to pay this place $ they would let just about anyone move in. I had neighbors living bellow me that seriously nearly drove me insane for lack of sleep and fear of personal safety. They had cramped 9 people into an 865 square foot apartment, with three large dogs and management did not seem to care about this crazy living arrangement. These people were up all hours of the night, screaming and yelling at each other. I complained to management and they issued several warnings --but only when these people stopped paying rent did they do anything serious about the living situation. My next set of neighbors sold pot from the apartment. A short time after these people moved out the teenagers they allowed to move in next to me had the swat team come down on them for accidentally shooting each other. The police found them growing pot in the closet. One month after that we all went on lockdown when one of the residents was found making a bomb. The pool is always under maintenance in the summer, and if you call with a problem in your apartment the first reaction was always ""Can you try to fix it yourself."" When it comes to broken dishwashers or front door locks that is not a phrase you really want to hear. Upon moving out you really see the true colors of this complex. They will nickel and dime you for every possible charge they can come up with. As cliche as it sounds, I left that apartment looking better than when I moved in. The kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom were spotless. However 2 weeks later I received a $775 for cleaning costs, costs to replace the carpet (which was not new when I moved in, and granted looked a little worse for the wear considering it was cheap and I had a large dog living with me) and repainting fees. They even charged me to repaint the ceiling! Calls to the office to sort of the issue has only resulted in a game of phone tag, and I am now stuck dealing with their management company who just so happens to have an ""F"" rating with the better business bureau. My 2 cents -- if you can tolerate shady neighbors the price might make it tempting to live here. Just remember they will squeeze you for every last penny they can when you move out. Pros: cheap, allows pets Cons: bad management, shady neighbors, nothing gets fixed
