Review content:
My family and I have been going to Woody's for years, and it is sad for me to have to say this, but I can no longer recommend it to family and friends. Mismanagement, as often happens with restaurants, has clearly run it aground. Other diners agree because it used to be tough to get into Woody's on a Sunday morning, but it was half full today and the past few visits.
The last time I was there, they not only did not have my first choice of wine available (a common one I have ordered often there), but they were also 'out' of my second choice. This time, they were 'out' of creamer for coffee. There is a mini-mart across the street...it would take no time to go get some, but more importantly, how do you run out of such a staple of Sunday morning brunch?? When the waitress brought the coffee and mentioned off-handedly that they were out of cream and walked away, I was surprised, but when I ordered tea instead and the bill came and was told 'the manager decided not to charge you for both drinks, just the one', I was stunned. That kind of terrible customer service should not happen at an upscale restaurant. It is like serving waffles without syrup and then, after you ordered something else, you were told they had decided not to charge you for the waffles. Duh!
Speaking of waffles, my mother ordered a Strawberry Waffle and it literally came with a melon scoop of whipped cream and the equivalent of 2 sliced strawberries. That is not even close to one berry per bite and not at all what it used to be.
As I mentioned, my family and I have been eating there for years and have never felt that we were not getting value for the experience until now. Maybe they are having financial difficulty, but for now we will vote with our wallets and will choose to go elsewhere. The two stars are for old times sake...it really deserves a one for such a disappointing experience.
