Review content:
I used to love Record City. I visit Vegas once every year and have for the past ten years and visit this store up every time I visit. My main interest is in vinyl, and they do have a decent selection of stuff that's difficult to find anywhere other than Gemm or eBay. They used to be priced reasonably as well, but this year ('09) saw a dramatic increase in prices that seemed way out of touch with what the albums are actually worth. I always tightened my buttocks out of fear when walking into Wax Trax (where the owner states flat out that he's EXPENSIVE and has no set prices on anything). I felt the same way after walking out of Record City this year. Sad to see, but for what it's worth Zio did have some decent vinyl and their prices were sane. I'm hoping next year that Record City will return to being the reasonable store that it used to be. Bottom line: I've spent anywhere from $100 to $300 in years past at Record City. This year I spent $0. Pros: Nice Selection Cons: Expensice, cramped, slow turnover
