Businiess name:  New York Central Art Supply

Review content:
A small store compared to other art stores in the city. What sets this shop apart from the others is the fine paper selection upstairs with a lot of exotic papers from around the world. Also a nice selection of imported brushes and sketchbooks. There are also many printmaking supplies available downstairs which I haven't found anywhere else. Student discounts are available, but overall I think this store is more friendly towards serious professionals. One guy working the paper section was very rude...I asked what was the heaviest paper they stocked, and he gave me this annoyed grunt. DON'T LET THE STAFF PLAY YOU!!! I sometimes ended up lashing back at them, and that straightened them up...\r \r But, if you are looking for just a very good selection of GENERAL, high quality art supplies I would recommend instead Da Vinci Art Supplies on 21st St./7th Ave. Chelsea. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY STAFF. (forget Pearl Paint! That store has been going DOWNHILL) Pros: PAPER SECTION! Higher-quality art supplies they stock Cons: very small and narrow store, some staff are jerks. Others are OK
