Review content:
I was recommended 2 towing companies by my auto repair shop and felt that MGM would be a good, reliable towing company given the number of trucks that they own. However, I waited 4 hours for my vehicle to be towed.
The receptionist notified that I would be called within an hour of my tow request by the driver. He would not give me a price quote and said the driver would have to give that to me. He couldn't even give me a ballpark range (maybe because he knew every other towing company in Queens is cheaper). Well, the driver never called me so after an hour passed, I called again only to speak to a different receptionist who again said the driver is on his way and that I would get a phone call within the hour. I waited another hour and ... you get the idea.
By the time it was 3:30pm I was really frustrated as my auto shop was going to close soon. This time I called again and a different person said that my driver is ""currently walking out to the truck"". Wait a minute. Wasn't I told that the driver was out and was on his way HOURS ago? Again he wouldn't put me in direct contact with the driver but he said ""go out to the car now, he'll be there in 15 minutes"".
I went out to the car. Waited. After 20 minutes went by I called the company and surprisingly was talking to the driver (was I talking to him all along and he only pretended not to be so that he wouldn't give me a price quote??) and he said he stopped by my car but no one was there.
Irate, I asked why he didn't call me? He said he had no number to call. First, this is NOT true. Second, WHAT KIND OF COMPANY WOULD TAKE A TOW REQUEST AND NOT WRITE DOWN A CALLBACK NUMBER? He tried to dump it on me as if it was my fault that he didn't have a number but anyone with common sense would know that it was the company's internal problem for not recording down phone numbers.
I ended up calling plenty of other tow companies that were immediately available and found a SWEET, RELIABLE, QUICK towing company who offered a FLATBED at $60. Their number is 718 533 1153 (Flushing Tow Company). Spread the word.
Pros: Many trucks (apparently)
Cons: Unreliable
